WELCOME TO THE WEBSITE OF MONIR GORAN

Monir Goran was born in 1975 in Kirkuk in Iraq. Ever since childhood he plays guitar and ud and he is interested in world music. He grew up with Kurdish music (Eastern lute and guitar) learn to play.

He went to Baghdad to study music, began his journey with the Ud. In Baghdad, he learned from the most famous musicians and graduated in 1997. From that time he was also active in a group of artists and philosophers. In Jordan, he taught at a music school Ud. He worked with a band ’Al-Nagam -Alasil’ and performed regularly at festivals in Amman and Zerkah.

In the Netherlands, he has regularly performed at festivals and venues including Rasa, Paradiso, Dunje festival, Global village festival, Radio 4 & 6 and Klara Radio
